Lenten Prayer Days 2009
Our Lenten Prayer Days will focus on the theme of Healing this year. The days are “stand-alone,” which means that one may attend any or all of them. Please note that the program for each day begins at 9:45 a.m. (From 9:15-9:45 coffee and water will be available in the dining room.) A new aspect of the day will be that immediately after Mass, staff members will be available to pray with any participants who wish for whatever healing they are seeking.
There is no charge for the day, but a suggested offering of $20-$25.00 would be greatly appreciated. Participants bring their own lunch (which can be refrigerated if needed); water and coffee (regular and de-caff) are provided.
March 4 Healing and the Scriptures Bro. Bob Roddy, OFM Conv. (See Our Staff for bio) Healings are a key element of the ministry of Jesus. We will reflect upon what the Scriptures have to say about healing, and how healing is often times more than a "cure."
March 11 Healing and Forgiveness Kris Joseph (See Our Staff for bio) Forgiveness can be one of the most challenging endeavors for anyone, and yet the thread of forgiveness is very present in any healing we may receive. Sometimes forgiveness needs to be extended to ourselves as well as those individuals or groups that have wounded us.
March 18 Healing and Life Transitions Terri Mifek (See Our Staff for bio)
Life presents us with many changes; some are unplanned, e.g., loss of health, loss of a job or the loss of a relationship; others are a natural part of aging. We will explore how these difficult times of transition can lead to new growth and a closer relationship to God and one another.
March 25 Healing our Relationship with the Church Nancy Murzyn (See Our Staff for bio)
If you or someone you care about is experiencing a time of difficulty, indifference or estrangement in their relationship with the Catholic Church, you are invited to join us as we explore areas of healing, renewal and reconciliation. We will reflect upon the passages of those who have left and eventually returned to the Church to gain some insight and guidance.
